Mohammed Shami’s Hasin Jahan vows to make his life hell after latest court order

The High Court of Calcutta has ordered Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami to pay an interim amount of INR 4 lakhs per month to his wife and daughter as alimony amid the legal battle between him and his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan.

The case dates back years, as the judgment passed by Dr. Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee has finally been declared a major victory for the cricketer’s ex-wife. She claims that this is the first step to happiness for her.

The judgment marked that INR 150,000 has to be given to his ex-wife, Hasin Jahan, and INR 250,000 to his daughter until the case for domestic violence is dissolved against the Indian pacer.

The court said the amounts would “be fair and reasonable” to ensure financial stability for both the wife and daughter “until the disposal of the main application”.

“Such amount is to be paid by the opposite party/husband from the date of filing of the application under section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act,” the court added.

Hasin Jahan’s plea for a higher alimony

After the order had been made, Hasin Jahan seemed to have taken a sigh of relief; however, in a session with PTI, she informed them that the case was filed asking for INR 10 lakhs. However, considering the lifestyle Mohammed Shami leads, Hasin recognizes INR 4 lakh to be less by the cricketer’s standards.

Also, she mentioned filing for a caveat.

“We are relieved. As a father, if he (Shami) gave the alimony before, it would have benefited the child. Now, I can send her to a good school,” said Hasina Jahan after the order.

Mohammed Shami’s supposed net worth in 2025

Mohammed Shami is not among the cricketers whose income is open to the world, as Shami’s income sources dating back to 2021 were believed to be around INR 7.19 crores annually.

This makes his monthly income nearly INR 60 lakhs, and considering his new monthly obligations as imposed by the order made by the Honourable High Court of Calcutta, Mohammed Shami would have to pay only 6.7% of his monthly income to his estranged wife and child.

Mohammed Shami’s major source of income comes from his BCCI contract, while he is also seen featuring in the IPL auction. This time around, he was roped in for a huge INR 10 crores by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. Also, Shami has earnings from endorsements like several other celebrity figures in the game.

Mohammed Shami is in line for Test retirement

Mohammed Shami, the veteran pacer for India, has excelled with both the white ball and the red ball for India and has been a standout performer for them on several occasions.

However, in recent years, due to his growing age and lack of fitness, Mohammed Shami has missed a large number of matches, suffering from injury setbacks. Speaking of the current series against England, Shami is not featuring for India due to injury concerns.

Also, his inability to bowl in long spells any further might line him up for calling an end to his Test career, as the 34-year-old played his last test against Australia in the WTC 2023 final, which India eventually lost. He missed an entire WTC cycle from 2023 to 2025.
