Rishabh Pant and Gautam Gambhir’s team politics caught on camera

In a recent show appearance on Netflix, Indian superstars Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal, alongside the Indian team’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, were seen engaging in a conversation with host Kapil Sharma.

In the show, Kapil Sharma pointed at Rishabh Pant’s insane price in the Indian Premier League auction. He was bought for a huge INR 27 crore by the Lucknow Super Giants and turned out to be the costliest player in the history of the tournament.

What happened with Rishabh Pant and Gambhir at the Kapil Sharma Show

When Kapil joked about the fact that, after being bought for such a huge amount, what will be Pant’s stand if some other player bought for just 2-3 crores takes away all the attention with even better performance?

To this, Rishabh Pant also put a quirky question in front of the host: what would he do if someone outsmarts him in his own genre, that is, comedy? To this, Kapil Sharma answered, saying, ‘main uska kaat deta hoon.’ [I crop his portion out from my show.]

As Pant was laughing out loud at the response, Gambhir further added, saying to Pant that he can also say that he will drop the player who scores more than him in the season. This might have been a light-hearted remark; however, several critics have again twisted his words to make a snobbish sense of Gambhir’s words.

Rishabh Pant’s season for LSG after being bought for INR 27 Crore

Rishabh Pant is currently ruling with his form in England; however, he was bought in the Indian Premier League for a staggering amount of INR 27 crores. This was an insane price set by the Lucknow Super Giants for the Indian wicket-keeper batsman.

Rishabh was given the role of a wicket-keeper batsman in the side and was also picked as the skipper of the side. He replaced KL Rahul in the team, who played the previous season in a similar role.

Rishabh Pant played all 14 matches for the Lucknow Super Giants, though this season might be stated as the worst season from the veteran’s point of view. He has been a great dominating force for the Delhi Capitals ever since his debut, but after a staggering move to LSG, he could manage only 269 runs in this edition.

He has played 14 matches and scored 269 runs, of which 118 runs came in the last match against RCB. Before that, Pant just had one fifty in the season. Pant’s strike rate throughout the disappointing season remained 133.17.

Pant is having a great outing in England

Rishabh Pant is having a great outing in England, as he features in the India Playing 11 for the Test series against England. Pant might not have had a great impact for India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, nor was he picked into the Indian 11 for the Champions Trophy.

Rishabh returned to the Indian side with a commanding ton in the first innings of the Test at Headingley and then followed it with another ton in the second innings of the game. He was the first Indian wicket-keeper batter with twin hundreds in England.

Pant went on to score a quick half-century in the second innings of the Edgbaston Test as well. He was dismissed twice by Shoaib Bashir, the off-spinner in the English side.
